The 5th generation mobile communication technology is the latest generation of cellular mobile communication technology and an extension of 4G (LTE-A, WiMax), 3G (UMTS, LTE) and 2G (GSM) systems.5G's performance goals are high data rates, reduced latency, energy savings, reduced costs, increased system capacity, and large-scale device connectivity.The first phase of the 5G specification in release-15 was designed to accommodate early commercial deployment.The second phase of release-16 will be completed in April 2020 and submitted to the international telecommunication union (ITU) as a candidate for IMT-2020 technology .The ITU IMT-2020 specification requires speeds of up to 20 Gbit/s, allowing for wide channel bandwidth and high-capacity MIMO.
1.Peak rate needs to reach the standard of Gbit/s to meet the needs of large data transmission such as hd video and virtual reality.
2.The delay level of air interface needs to be around 1ms to meet the requirements of real-time applications such as automatic driving and telemedicine.
3.Super large network capacity, provide 100 billion equipment connection capacity, meet the Internet of things communication.
4.Spectrum efficiency is more than 10 times better than LTE.
5.With continuous wide-area coverage and high mobility, the user experience rate reaches 100Mbit/s.
6.The flow density and connection density are greatly increased.
7.The system is coordinated, the level of intelligence is improved, the performance is multi-user, multi-point, multi-antenna, multi-intake collaborative networking, as well as flexible automatic adjustment between networks.
All above is the key to distinguish 5G from previous generations of mobile communications, and is the result of the gradual transformation of mobile communications from technology-centric to user-centric.
